More A400M work for Denel Aerostructures
defenceWeb reports that Denel Aerostructures (DAe) is currently ramping up component production for the Airbus A400M, a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed by Airbus Military, as the aircraft approaches service entry.
Denel Aerostructures is also in the process of receiving a third work package from Airbus Military to build tail plane rib and spar components for the A400M airlifter out of composite materials, according to defenceWeb.
Speaking at the Farnborough 2012 International Airshow, DAe CEO Ismail Dockrat said that the A400M has gone into serial production mode. The ramp-up means that Denel Aerostructures will increase production of its parts to meet Airbus demand of around 24 aircraft per year over the next two years and growing to more than two per month in the subsequent years, defenceWeb says.
