Super-Brands will distribute the product through its sports distribution subsidiary Dunslaz Distributors. It will start showing the local market samples of the product range during October 2009 and the first retailer stock is expected to be on shelf in early 2010.
In initial talks potential retailers have shown great interest in the product in a market where mouth guards are an essential commodity due to the popularity and prevalence of contact sports like rugby, cricket and hockey.
Cuan Chelin, the Super-Brands chief executive, commented: “With our current involvement in contact sports like rugby and hockey through our key sports brands, we are delighted to be able to offer the South Africa sports market such a vital complementary product.”
