Pinnacle Africa's MD, Tim Humphreys-Davies says, "The move allows the company to act as a one-stop source for all PC component needs - from CPUs to motherboards to power supplies. We are also able to offer other value added services to our resellers including technical support, promotions and incentives, credit facilities, logistics and even product training and business development.

"Thomson's experience gained managing the company's Proline brand, combined with the company's understanding of the local market and its large, varied portfolio of complementary brands and products will be instrumental in capitalising on the opportunity to grow both our businesses in the region."

Since August 2013, Intel has introduced over 40 new products for various market segments, ranging from ultra-mobile devices to data centres to the Internet-of-Things. It made significant progress in alternative markets with new platforms, product launches and design wins, which increased its competitiveness. Despite its growing focus on the expansion of the mobile market, it continues to derive approximately 70% of its revenue from the PC market. The company expects an expanding product line-up to grow its business across a broad range of devices and price points.

Pinnacle Africa's resellers will now have access to a wider range of ICT products, an increased stock holding and access to customer incentives available through Intel Technology Provider programmes.

Pinnacle Africa is 100% owned subsidiary of JSE listed Pinnacle Technology Holdings and it works in close synergy with the other subsidiaries including AxizWorkgroup, Datanet and Infrasol.
