Bosch Munitech, first company to receive triple rating

Bosch Munitech has become the first company in South Africa to receive a triple seven rating from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

The company, which specialises in the development and implementation of sustainable water and solid waste management solutions, is a member of the Bosch Holdings group of companies which was established in 1961 and is now a leading multi-disciplinary consulting, project engineering, construction and operational management group.

Bosch Munitech was established in 1988 with a view to providing operations and maintenance services to the municipal engineering sector. Over the past 23 years, the company has evolved to the point where it provides water and waste water services, solid waste and environmental services, geographic information systems and underground services location.

Single contractor offers advantages

Responding to the announcement that Bosch Munitech had attained a 7ME (mechanical), 7CE (civil) and 7EB (electrical) rating, MD Steve McCarley said that this achievement fitted the company's strategic approach to be an integrated and multi-disciplinary operations and maintenance engineering entity with the capacity to provide clients with sustainable solutions to challenges in the areas of waste water and solid waste management among others.

"This rating not only means we can tender for much larger projects, but that we can conduct all aspects of a particular contract simultaneously. A single contractor who can engage the whole scope of work offers significant advantages to our clients," McCarley said.

CIDB ratings are aimed at screening the industry to ensure service delivery by all participants as well as promote excellence. The CIDB grading system rates contractors according to their capability to perform construction projects and assesses both financial and works capabilities based on past performance.
