The objective of this MOU is to facilitate and ensure cooperation between UCT and NHBRC scientific and technical personnel through joint studies and research on subjects of mutual interest to do with geotechnical engineering.
"Being able to access some of UCT's resources will mean that the NHBRC can continue to fulfil its mandate of managing the skills shortage in the construction and home building industry. Similarly, UCT's access to our resources will ensure the success of their projects in the field," said NHBRC CEO, Mongezi Mnyani.
"In addition, this is an effective means of ensuring that the NHBRC can minimise duplication of resources and functions by state entities," concluded Mnyani.
