Transnet secures court order to access withheld CRRC locomotive spares







Students are annually tasked with meeting a real-world brief, based on a specific site. The site is selected based on the city in which the previous year’s winner is located. The top three students in 2020 were from Cape Town, so the 2021 brief is set there. The brief requires students to create a design to develop the historical Strand Street Quarry as an attractive tourist destination and connection hub along the city’s planned Heritage Route.
The finalists, in no particular order, are:
“Congratulations to all our finalists,” says Lian Markham, communications manager at PG Bison. “It was a robust discussion between our expert judges to whittle down the entries to the top 10 finalists – the standard was very high this year. Congratulations to these 10 students and their institutions on being the cream of the crop. It’s lovely to see a mix of students from across the country and the interior design and architecture disciplines. We look forward to celebrating with you at our awards ceremony in a few weeks’ time when the winner will be announced.”
