SA companies can no longer afford to ignore extended producer responsibility

As we gear up for World Design Capital Cape Town 2014, there is no shortage of conversations about South Africa's design credentials, and all design industry members are welcome to hear from local and international designers about the latest innovations, technologies and products driving the design industry and placing Cape Town and South Africa on the map of world leaders in design. During the two day event, the workshop discussions will focus on the World Design Capital theme: Live Design, Transform Life.
Activities during ArchitectureZA include two day international workshops and tours, and a trade and design exhibition. "World Design Capital, Cape Town 2014 is an opportunity for architectural expression, at the smallest and largest scale and every scale in between. It is as much about the pretty as it is about the gritty, and it provides the ideal platform to use design for social transformation and improve lives of the citizens in Cape Town. And it's all up for discussion at ArchitectureZA," said Alayne Reesberg, CEO of Cape Town Design, the indedpendent agency appointed by the City of Cape Town to build and implement the programme for 2014.
Featured speakers include Alberto Kalach from Mexico, Mick Pearce from Zimbabwe, Nina Maritz from Namibia, Kunlé Adeyemi from Nigeria, and a panel of leading South African designers.
