Zain extends fibre-optic network in Nigeria
Zain has extended its contract with Nokia Siemens Networks to handle the implementation of an additional 600km in Nigeria to its 4000km nationwide fibre-optic network.
Awarded the initial project in November 2007, Nokia Siemens Networks completed Phase one of the project by end February. Post an internal audit that showed excellent feedback on the competence and delivery of the initial project, Zain chose to extend its contract with Nokia Siemens Networks for Phase two.
Phase two will extend the fibre-optic backbone by another 600km and should be delivered completely within a timeframe of six months.
