Shuga gets new life as radio drama

ShugaRadioNaija has new characters and plotlines complementary to the TV series.

Set in the fictional rural location of 'Chikota', Nigeria, ShugaRadioNaija uses Shuga's 'edutainment' philosophy to tell the interlinked stories of a group of young students, their friends and families, as they try to figure out life, love, sex and emotions against a background of conflicting advice and prejudice.

Over eight 12-minute episodes ShugaRadioNaija will address a wide range of thought-provoking topics echoing those in the TV drama including HIV counselling and testing, discussing condom use in relationships, gender inequality, abuse, transactional sex, and the role of multiple concurrent partnerships in driving the HIV epidemic.
