Enenche Godwin Akogwu, the Kano correspondent for independent broadcaster Channels TV, was killed by an unidentified gunman while trying to interview witnesses of a deadly terrorist attack at a Kano police station, says RSF.
According to CPJ, Akogwu had just returned from a news conference organised by police after multiple suicide bombings targeted government and police buildings.
The bombings were claimed by Boko Haram, which was "almost certainly also responsible for Akogwu's murder," said RSF.
