    Multichoice Malawi introduces on-demand facility

Malawi's sole provider of digital satellite television services MultiChoice Malawi has launched a high-definition PVR decoder which will enable viewers to watch their favourite programmes on demand.

Katenga Kaunda said the DStv On-Demand facility has come as the country strives to show its commitment to provide innovative products.

"We want our subscribers to be in control over their channel options," she said.

Through the new facility, DStv premium subscribers with a PVR decoder are able to catch up on their favourite TV series and sports highlights and with the content stored on the decoders' hard disk.

DStv On-Demand provides access to 20 of the most popular TV series and sports magazine shows for up to seven days after broadcast on one of the DStv channel. The regularly updated content is downloadable when a subscriber has no scheduled recordings.
