Malawi: MBC reshuffles editorial structure
Chimwemwe Banda, who used to be deputy director general of the then Malawi Television, is now director of programmes, news and current affairs for MBC both radio and TV services.
Wellingtone Kuntaja is now bureau chief for the northern region with Chimbizga Msimuko as deputy, Charles Vintula holds a similar post for central region. Thomas Chafunya is now head of the TV news service for the central bureau while Marcus Muhariwa holds a similar post for radio services.
Vincent Khonyongwa has been appointed chief reporter for radio while Chipiliro Mtumodzi is the diary manager for both TV and radio.
Philp Bizinesi who is championing the 2014 candidature of President Bingu wa Mutharika's young brother Peter wa Mutharika through his TV programme "Road to 2014" has been made chief producer for radio and TV. Mgeme Kalilani now becomes chief editor for both radio and TV while head of presentation for MBC radio one and two is Cosmas Tchale and Hope Chisanu as deputy.
On 5 July 2010 President Bingu wa Mutharika appointed former acting director general of the defunct Malawi Television (TVM) Bright Malopa to become director general of the newly created institution now running state-controlled television services and two radio stations.
