It's all downhill from here - year end 2015

The 2015 year has been a bit of a blur (an epic blur) for the Rocket Creative crew, and the final 'silly season' push is just as manic as it always seems to catch some clients unawares despite all best intentions to schedule as much as possible.

Intuitive agency culture

Lately I've been contemplating the polarity of the communications world, especially public relations. We implement policies and processes for the sake of policies and processes, we represent a profession that assimilates people and nurture relationships, yet we discount the amount of instinct needed to do what we do well. Step one, admit that your job is much about feel as fact - and that's a good thing. Step two, find an environment that nurtures instinct so that you can nurture yours.

SEO and video marketing take user intent up a level

Yep, it's official now in ways we could never have imagined, it's the end of 2015 and mobile has finally obliterated desktop search, and although we saw that coming we could not have prepared for the new video trend that is set to shake the very ground on which written content depends.

Content writers are not 'real' writers? It's time we set the record straight... - National Positions South Africa
Content writers are not 'real' writers? It's time we set the record straight...

So many writers out there are quick to say that content writers aren't 'real' writers. That we have sold out and given up on our dreams of penning the next best-selling novel (something that people 'will actually read'). They say that anyone can do it. That the job requires very little creativity; and that one needs access to a lot of beer, wine and cigarettes in order to get through the mammoth workload that comes with it. While that last assumption is indeed true, I'm here to set the record straight about the rest.
