The 4th Annual Phumelela Charity Mile
The annual Phumelela Charity Mile November Handicap has fast become one of the highlights of the annual South African racing calendar.
The race, hosted at Turffontein Race Course on Saturday 1 November, partners celebrities with charities that are linked to a thoroughbred running in the race. The amount of money donated to each charity is determined by the position achieved in the race. Total prize money amounts to R 550 000 of which the first place runner wins R 100 000 for its charity through to R 20 000 for the last thoroughbred past the finishing post.
This year, Likeithot, supported by Lee-Ann Liebenberg and fiancée Danny K was first past the finishing post earning R 100 000 for the Animal Anti Cruelty League.
