The United Way Worldwide movement officially launched United Way South Africa in Johannesburg on 1 June 2017. The non-profit organisation is aimed at improving education, income, and health and involves all sectors of society through the strategic collaboration between itself and the communities it intends on helping.

The Phumelela Primary School in Kwa Mashu, KwaZulu-Natal received seven such mobile libraries.

Project 90 by 2030 recently donated and installed five solar power charging units at the Abaphumeleli Home of Safety in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. On 26 May 2017, the 18th Kruger National Park Achievement Awards took place in the park, at Skukuza, which saw finalists selected based on a set of strict assessment criteria. The awards were judged on overall performance, which included implementation of various systems, financial performance and management, guest complaints and compliments, compliance to policies and general neatness of the facility.
