Tusk's royal patron Prince William made an appearance via video at the 2017 Tusk Conservation Awards last night Wednesday, 4 October 2017. During his appearance, he addressed attendees on the issue of not having a sustainable environment for future generations.

Project 90 by 2030 recently donated and installed five solar power charging units at the Abaphumeleli Home of Safety in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The Wavescape Festival in Cape Town, an ocean-minded event, included film screenings, art exhibitions, ocean talks, filmmaking workshops and a charity auction. A record R328,000 was raised and will be making its way to four important ocean causes.
