2014 has seen some positive growth in the adoption of Augmented Reality (AR) by the SA mobile consumer and big brands alike. AR is set to become the new triple threat in 2015: combining video, social and online, all wrapped up in a package ready to unlock.
Many B2B technology companies in South Africa have yet to fully embrace social media, perhaps believing that it does not give them exposure to the right target audience. Or it might be because they have yet to find the right digital agency that understands who they are and what they do.

Twitter has announced the introduction of a new opt-out service, "app graph", which records the names of the apps users currently have downloaded on their devices. This data will be used by Twitter to hopefully improve ad targeting capabilities. It has already been implemented on iOS last week, with Android likely to follow later this week.
