Blinging winning

Top story in entertainment news this week is the announcement of the winners of the often debated and highly contested SAMA Awards. We reserve judgment and give a hearty congrats to all the winners!

In other news, I report back on my maiden venture to the middle of the Karoo to take part in the life-changing artistic event, AfrikaBurn; Sensation is set to bring "Innerspace" to Joburg in September; and photographer Johnny Lai Sang snaps some up-close-and-personal pics of the Bon Jovi concert in Cape Town.

Nina Timm discusses her favourite food brands which have stood the test of time, and the foodie celebs taking part in the Good Food & Wine Show are announced.

Daniel Dercksen gives his thoughts on must-see-movie of the season, Dead Man Down, and the twisted, surprise-ending shocker, Stoker.

In stage news, Eugene Yiga is impressed by the witty satirical farce, The Miser, and gives his impressions on the gritty production, Long Street Nights.

Last, but not least, we have three juicy new comps this week - two tickets to the Outdoor Expo in Joburg, two tickets to Park Acoustics third birthday bash in Pretoria, and two tickets to either the Cape Town or Joburg Snoop Dogg concert are up for grabs. Fo shizzle!

Dare to be stoked
[Daniel Dercksen] Stoker is a deliciously dark and twisted shocker that will hit you like a ton of bricks. No, it's not a film about the infamous vampire king, but the killer in this nerve-wracking psychological thriller is as charming and malevolent as the Lord of Fangs, an opportunist who preys on the innocent. Dead Man Down
[Daniel Dercksen] If there is one film that everyone will be talking about, it's Danish-born director Niels Arden Oplev's entrancing and not-to-be-missed Dead Man Down.
