Tshwane University of Technology students win photography competition July 2006 saw three promising photography students from the Tshwane University of Technology selected as the winners in The South African Magazine Photography Competition. Kläre Meijer scooped first place with her entry "Future Generation"; depicting a fruit vendor's daughter clutching an orange in her tiny hand. Runners up were Anelle Botha and Rupert de Beer. The prize-giving was held at the offices of Future Publishing, publishers of The South African Magazine.

South Africans as recreational shoppers Three quarters of the world's Internet-using population classify themselves as 'recreational shoppers' - meaning that they shop for entertainment rather than necessity, at least occasionally.
