No Comment | The magazine publishing industry is one of the most dynamic sectors right now, with no less than 11 new magazines - from new female titles, to custom publishing and childcare - all launching in the past month, August 2005. And with a host of great ABCs for some top existing titles, and ground-breaking ones for some new-kids-on-the-block, as well as a host of new editorial appointments, this is certainly an exciting sector right now to report on. What is really interesting is the number of new titles aimed at the female market, most recently: SHOP, Me and Woman Inc, for the business woman, which is a really interesting one. For seasoned media consumers such as myself, I have no doubt that there are still gaps remaining to reach the more mature female professional in the market and it will be interesting to see if women embrace a business magazine aimed at them, or if a publisher will still launch the title which reaches the over-35 professional woman with a career and a family. Although maybe woman prefer to make up their own reading bouquet through more than one title to meet all their needs?
Have a good one! Louise Marsland, Editor, editor@biz-community.com
