| No Comment | The countdown to Loeries has begun... Entries have closed and are significantly up on previous years; the two Loerie awards evenings are sold out with 1800 tickets booked for each evening; and 2000 air tickets have been sold on Kulula.com as the industry decides to make the groot trek to Margate for the Loerie weekend: 15 and 16 October 2005. The Loerie Committee and CEO Andrew Human, who took a major risk in moving the venue to such an unexpected town on 'taking back the Loeries', have reason to be cautiously optimistic as the refined entry process and mass discount bookings schemes to Margate has yielded excellent results. As far as entries go, in the design category for example, entries are up from 300 last year to 800 this year, and in the student category from 187 last year to 400 this year. Of course in the end the committee will be judged on the weekend event and by the number of awards each agency takes home, but the process seems to be well on its way. See you in Margate!
Enjoy! Louise Marsland, Editor, editor@biz-community.com
