| No Comment | Despite the rise of the iPod, radio must be one of the most personal media ever to have been invented. The changing DJ/presenter line-ups and music play-lists on our top music radio stations are certainly one of the longest running debates ever on Bizcommunity.com - starting last year with 5FMs new DJ line-up; to the constant change at Jacaranda; the type of music played by Highveld, YFM and Metro; and Good Hope FMs latest commercial with scantily clad shipmates! The 'outlaw status' of some of the campus radio stations like Tuks have also been in the news as they find favour with listeners who feel they no longer belong in the commercial stations' footprint. This past week has seen daily news stories with 702 Talk Radio's 25th anniversary, to a new morning show host at Jacaranda to take on the RAW team at rival Highveld. It all makes for great listening... and great copy!
Have a good one! Louise Marsland, Editor, editor@bizcommunity.com

Creative brainstorms - a lesson from the world of improv [Sid Peimer ] Drew Carry's TV show, 'Who's line is it anyway', seems a totally chaotic and spontaneous process. The actors make sophisticated decisions on the spur of the moment, without the benefit of a script. This improvisation comedy (improv) appears to involve trickery - how could they possibly develop ideas so quickly? The truth is that there is a trick. It's called cooperation...

Is your brand worth billions? [Naseem Javed] Is your brand valuation worth a billion dollars today? Maybe yes or maybe no, but it surely is worth something pretty big. At the end of the day, all the work you have put in pushing your name identity and your range of products and services in your marketplace adds up in an abstract space of the consumer's mind, where it acquires some great value.
