Kabelo has over 15 years Public Affairs and Relations experience in Southern Africa, based mainly in the extractive industries working for diamond mining giant Debswana (DeBeers-Botswana). It was 6 years ago when Kabelo choose to establish a consultancy that focused on the creation of "hot" business relations. Thus the birth of Hotwire Public Relations Consultancy (Hotwireprc).
Today Hotwire is Botswana's leading Public Relations agency, with a client list that includes 40% all listed companies on the Botswana Stock Exchange. For the last four years in a row Hotwire been rated best publisher of financial accounts, awarded by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Botswana Chamber of Commerce. Hotwire is also the largest event coordination agency with a client list that includes the Botswana Premier league and South African Tourism.
Kabelo's view has always been that the success of any organisation is not possible without a strong relationship building strategy. He attested the success of Hotwire to this simple principle. This ambition has seen Hotwire making some very "hot" connections with the likes of africapractice (africapractice.com) and Young & Rubicam. Today Hotwire has access to thinking across the African continent and beyond. In 2010 Hotwire spun out a sister agency Wired Y&R an affiliate to the massive Y&R brand which is making waves across Africa as it expands.
As an entrepreneur, Kabelo has a diversified portfolio. He is a partner to Bidvest in Botswana. Through this partnership he as interests in Rennies Botswana and Travelwise both industry leaders in their sectors.
