The next generation of Volvo's all-electric cars will have flat floors as previewed in the Concept Recharge. By removing the engine and replacing it with an entire battery pack under the flat floor, designers have lengthened the car's wheelbase and wheel size. The result is shorter overhangs as well as much more interior space, including a large storage area between the front seats.

This concept car also introduces a new Volvo design language, 'less, but better.' In keeping with the motto, the designers were able to evolve the proportions of the car to increase space while improving aerodynamic efficiency. The result is a car that truly offers better solutions to support sustainable family living.
