South Africa tourism agency woos Ugandans
SA Tourism's Trade Relations Manager, Hulisani Thabela said deliberate efforts would continue to be made to inform Ugandan travel industry and consumer about the benefits that South Africa has to offer in terms of travel packages, products and business opportunities.
Thabela was speaking at the first of three workshops, which are aimed at showcasing the diverse offering of destination South Africa to the travel trade and consumers in East Africa making stops in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
“Ugandans who visit South Africa travel for business related activities, although the more popular activities remain shopping and leisure. This workshop aims to create greater awareness of South Africa's plethora of tourism experiences by providing relevant information to the trade that will help them to sell the destination more effectively to their clients,” she said.
Uganda's leading travel and tourism operators as well as key consumer media attended the workshop.
“South African Tourism in encouraged by the positive reception we've had in Uganda and we will continue to invest in this market as we believe that it holds a great deal of potential for our destination and for our trade partners,” concluded Thabela.
