Team Perfect Circle brings young talent to the track
The event will takes place at the world-famous Grand Prix circuit from 21-23 November 2019. Crews from all over the globe will converge on the Midrand track, vying for honours in the season finale of this prestigious championship.
Motorsport fans can expect to see road-based sportscars from Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche, as well as others, battling wheel-to-wheel for hours on end and into the darkness of night.
Looking to take the fight to the international teams will be a home-grown outfit called Team Perfect Circle. Three top local drivers have joined forces to compete in the amateur class of the event.
Well-known racing persona Andre Bezuidenhout, Simola Hillclimb winner Franco Scribante, and Silvio Scribante will share driving duties over the course of the event. They will be backed by Dino Scribante who will serve as reserve driver.
Team Perfect Circle will be armed with a Porsche 911 GT3 R for the race. The 997-generation 911 is a race-ready factory-built GT3 racer.
Team Perfect Circle is named after a squad that contested the 9 Hour race in 1969. David Piper and Richard Attwood claimed an overall victory that year in a white Porsche 917. The 2019 racer will wear race livery to mimic its historical counterpart with the blessing of Attwood. David Piper will be attendance at Kyalami this year to cheer on the South African team.
Another special guest joining the team at the event will be Joshwin Bock. The 17-year old from Cloetesville, Stellenbosch is a budding motorsport fan and Team Perfect Circle wants the youngster to experience world-class racing in an effort to ignite his passion for the sport.
Andre Bezuidenhout says, “Living a life without passion is like cruising on the highway at 40 km/h. You will get there, but it is no fun. The focus of racing, the dedication to win and the friendship with all of those who want to beat me create memories for a lifetime”.
Franco Scribante adds, “After months of planning, I absolutely cannot wait to take the start of the 9 Hour. It will be great to compete against top-flight GT teams, to use them as a yardstick of how we measure up internationally. We're all really looking forward to the challenge”.
“To race against the best GT drivers in the world will be one heck of an experience. Competing on the international stage with my friend and family as teammates is truly amazing. My aim is to make all South Africans proud of our achievements, ideally by finishing on the podium” says Silvio Scribante.
“It is incredible to think that the Kyalami 9 Hour is just days away. It was a childhood dream to race this magnificent race and to be able to finally realise the dream is amazing, more so to be able to do so with great friends and family. To compete against the best GT drivers on the planet will be an experience that I will certainly treasure and learn from” notes Dino Scribante.
