Lots to see at motor show
Africa's largest motor show returns to this country this week after a three-year absence with the Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) which will be held at the Expo Centre, Nasreq from 8-16 October 2011.
This year's promises to be the most exciting in the show's history with just about every car manufacturer represented in South Africa unwrapping new models. Highlights of the show are expected to be a number of very special super models which made their debut at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show.
New models on show
On show will be the new MP4-12C Mclaren, a new SLS AMG Roadster from Mercedes, Audi's new R8 supercar and its W12-powered A8, the new BMW M5 and its Vision Efficient Dynamics concept car due to star with Tom Cruise in the next "Mission Impossible" movie, the Mini Paceman Concept, Ford's new Ranger, Nissan's electric Leaf and new Juke crossover, Mitsubishi's ASX SUV, the H7undai Velostar coupe, the Ford Kuga five-seater cross-over and Volkswagen's new Beetle and Golf Cabriolet.
In addition to a super selection of new cars there will also be interesting range displays featuring accessories, trucks, motor cycles, competitions, live demonstrations and the latest technologies in the motoring industry.
Rugby fans are also being catered for with a large screen in a special fan park within the grounds.
Tickets to the show cost R80 for adults and R20 for children and there will be an additional charge for the rugby screening area.
