Stanley Black & Decker appoint new SA and Africa business heads
Riaan Olivier has been appointed as head of South African business, and Francois Géradin has been appointed as head of African business for Stanley Black & Decker (SBD).
Riaan Olivier
Olivier has an MBA and a master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch. Previously he was the MD for sub-Saharan Africa of United Technologies Fire (UTC Fire and Security), a multi-national company with headquarters in Paris. In this role he managed the complete commercial business, logistics, human resources, finance and general operations. Olivier was responsible for business development in the entire region on specification and an end-user level and vastly increased the channel footprint.
Prior to this he was the commercial manager of sales and marketing at Schneider Electric, based in Midrand, also a multi-national electrical and automation product manufacturer with headquarters in Paris. In addition, he has worked in marketing at Electrical Distribution Systems, as an engineer at Protek Network Management (Viziqor Systems), and in management in Independent Technology Systems and Telkom.
With a corporate mandate to provide a renewed focus on emerging markets, SBD is also geared up with plans for expansion into the rest of the continent.
