Labour dispute at Toyota resolved
Manufacturing workers at Toyota South Africa Motors' Prospecton plant in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal returned to work on Friday 5 October after negotiating parties resolved a dispute that originated on Monday 1 October.
The agreement resolves a wage dispute related to the implementation of a part of the 2010 National Bargaining Forum agreement.
"We are happy that we could resolve the dispute in such an amicable and speedy manner and we look forward to returning to full production," says Dr Johan van Zyl, President and CEO of Toyota South Africa Motors.
Toyota South Africa Motors reiterates that at no point did the strike action become unruly, nor did any staff member cause malicious damage to property or harm to any person.
