This was his first visit to the American firm's operations in Port Elizabeth since he arrived in South Africa as the new Consul General in September last year. The key focus of his visit was to introduce himself to General Motors in South Africa and to learn more about the motor industry in the country. "We also utilised the opportunity to highlight the important role our company has to play within our economy and also more broadly within our local community," said Elvis Hermans, Government Relations & Public Policy manager.
Taylor also met with the president of GM Africa, Mario Spangenberg, and Ian Nicholls, vice president of GM South Africa Operations.
