During routine testing in the ongoing production, KTM discovered that the tools that are used to fasten the foot break lever onto the footrest mounting of the models 690 ENDURO R and 690 SMC R were partly not adjusted correctly. There is the possibility that a screw was tightened with a reduced turning moment.
KTM will send an information letter to all customers of concerned and already shipped motorcycles. Furthermore, at the section Service on the KTM website the customers can check whether their respective motorcycle is affected by the recall.
The check of the screwing can only be conducted by an authorised and qualified KTM dealer. The guaranteeing is free of charge.
