Energy saving initiative sponsors two eta Awards categories
State-owned power utility Eskom has rewarded excellence in the field of energy efficiency for the past 22 years. Eta, the Greek symbol for efficiency, gave its name to the Awards. The eta Awards - ESI-Africa reports - honour individuals, students, companies and institutions who use energy efficiently.
The awards comprise a cash amount of R30 000 for the winner in each category and R5 000 for each of the runners-up in each category, subject to the judges' discretion, according to ESI-Africa.
South Africa's 49M energy saving initiative announced that it will be sponsoring two categories of the eta Awards namely the Energy Savings in Households and Energy Efficiency Awareness categories, reports ESI-Africa.
