    Leadership, CBN, 69 nominees for .ng Awards

    Leadership Newspaper, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and 69 other organisations have emerged as nominees for the 2016 .ng Web Awards being organised by the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), managers of Nigeria's country code top level domain (ccTLD).

    The .NG the web awards co-located with its gala night will recognise the excellent achievements of members, stakeholders and the general public, who have contributed towards building a sustainable economy using technology relevant to the Domain Name System (DNS) industry.

    Leadership.ng has been nominated alongside 12 other media organisation in the .ng media award category for excellence in journalism and other media-related activities. This award is judged based on the level of local and original content promoted by such websites.

    On the best banking website/portal category award, cbn.gov.ng and fidelitybank.ng will vie for the bank websites that delivers the best user experience based on excellence in navigation, design and innovation. In the technology company of the year, Etisalat, Google, MTN and Spectranet will slug it out. The .NG web awards have 15 categories in all.

    According to NIRA "winners for each category will be determined through online voting and decisions of a Competent Award Jury selected based on their relevance and expertise." NIRA has invited the Internet community to vote for their preferred choice on the association website, nira.org.ng."

    Based on the award criteria adopted for the 2016 .ng Web Award, the company or organisation must have been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and is doing business with a .ng domain name either at the second level or third level. The domain name must have been registered for at least six months.
