CHOC children checkout "Ratatouille'
Children from the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation in Gauteng, were among the first folk in the country to see the latest utterly charming animated feature-length movie Pixar, "Ratatouille."

The children and their parents were invited along with their siblings and caregivers to see the movie on Sunday 16 September at Ster-Kinekor's Cresta cinema complex.

"These children find very little to laugh about," says Stéphane Jacqmin, Danone Clover's marketing director. "The cancer treatment they have to endure is tough, often painful and always difficult to endure. Pixar's "Ratatouille" provided a wonderful diversion for them, even if only for the morning. It also provided some wonderful inspiration, especially from Remy, the character who is the rat in Pixar's "Ratatouille".'

Danone Clover CHOC Houses are havens for children during the toughest part of their journeys. Therapy weakens the immune system, leaving children open to infections. They need good, clean surroundings in which to stay, which is what Danone Clover CHOC Houses provide - along with accommodation for a parent or other caregiver.

Danone Clover generates the funding to create these havens with its annual winter ‘Caring for Our Children' campaign. This year's campaign raised R1,6 million when Danone Clover pledged six cents for every Danone Clover yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, yoghurt juice blend and maas product, shoppers purchased during June and July. The money has been used by CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation to create the fourth Danone Clover CHOC House, in Pretoria.

The earlier Danone Clover CHOC Houses are in Bloemfontein, Soweto, and Cape Town, close to the specialist children's cancer treatment units in those cities' hospitals.
