Radisson SAS Hotel Sandton general manager and district director, Southern Africa, Maarten van den Nieuwenhuijsen says that despite the current world market slowdown, South African tourism and hospitality is poised for growth and needs to remain competitive in the global market. He says that while 2010 and next year's Confederation Cup represent a landmark for the domestic hospitality industry, it should be viewed as a growth node for future development and an opportunity to showcase the country and build on visitor volumes. Van den Nieuwenhuijsen spoke at the unveiling of the new 200 room 5-star Radisson SAS Sandton signage which is on schedule for opening in December this year.
