Shape Annual Charity Ball
Shape magazine's annual event, the Care for the Carers charity ball, was held this year in aid of the Association for the Physically Disabled (APD), Greater Johannesburg, at the Greek Club in Cape Town recently. Guests were entertained by former lead singer of chart-topping pop/rock group The Usual, James Stewart, while raising a record amount of money for the organisation. The on-going Shape Care for the Carers campaign is aimed at raising awareness and sponsoring support for inspiring South Africans in care-giving roles. The 31 amazing carers of the APD face massive personal challenges as they work to help physically disabled adults, kids and their families. Shape has, throughout 2006, acknowledged and rewarded these carers by generating funds, awareness and pampering treats from readers and advertisers alike.
