The end is just the beginning...

The final celebrations have come to a close, the last match has been played (and Paul the Octopus was proven right again, with many a Dutch fan braying for a calamari lunch), foreign fans are making their way home and the vuvuzelas are all but silent. After six years of build-up, the last month of football action seems to have flashed by in the blink of an eye. So what now? For those feeling at a loss after all the fanfare - the walks and parks and matches - Dr Nikolaus Eberl has offered some advice on how to beat the World Cup blues. If you're looking to get your mitts on one last piece of footy memorabilia, the giant Bafana Bafana jersey will be up for auction on eBay shortly. So while the main event is over, South Africa's legacy will live on, with Chris Moerdyk saying we've got to make the most of the massive publicity and keep the spirit alive. And after this success, who knows, SA may finally see its Olympic dreams come true... Ke nako!
