| No Comment | If there's two things that drive me insane on a daily basis, it's people who email me asking if I have used their press release and if not/when? The other is those who send invites through for only one person, at night, in locations that are outside of the usual "safer" or convenient environs. Let me tackle the first point: Bizcommunity.com editorial alone, receives over 1000 emails a week into the editor address. If we don't use your release, it's because it wasn't newsworthy enough, too self promotional, rubbish, or the news of the day overtook it - we are a daily after all. (And resending won't make us use it either!) On the other point, we know that your event is very important to you/your client, but it is work for us, not a party. So appreciate the fact that we get an average of three to five invites a day, half for evening events. So try include a partner or a work colleague in the invite, so that we have someone to drive with in the event of your new and exciting remote location being approved by client. I know I'm not alone in lobbying clients in this regard in the media, particularly since it seems as if even the previously 'sacrosanct' Mondays and Fridays are no longer safe from industry events - which, incidentally, is where I draw the line... after all, one has to catch up on email sometime!
Have a good one! Louise Marsland, Editor, editor@bizcommunity.com
