I have a background in computer programming, which I also use when building webpages. As a webdesigner it's important to be able to modify the code and theme in order to get the perfect webdesign or the unique features your customers want. Most of the websites I design are based on the WordPress CMS system and webshops on the WooCommerce extension to WordPress. This is because it's easy and fast to build a new webdesign in this system, and it's easy to modify and scale. WordPress are also one of the most popular CMS systems here in 2020, and without doubt the system with most add-on and additional content for. It's a system that is seo friendly and easy to use for online marketing. Now I work at Alphaweb in Aalborg, but I have also worked on other webbureau companies in Nordjylland so I do have some experience with webdesign for both small and lager companies.
Most of my jobs involve building a new website for smaller and medium sized companies or various improvements such as optimizing security or speed on larger websites or webshops. My most recent project was a webshop selling sporting gear and fitness equipment. You can find it here at Total sundhed - it's also based on WordPress and WooCommerce. I do a lot of sports in my spare time, so having a blog about health and sports is for me a great way to practice some more coding and design skills. Maybe I'll even turn it into a webshop some day.
After the customer get's the website, they sometimes also want to additional marketing in order to get more visitors to their new website or webshop. It can be things like Google Ads, better seo optimization or a social media strategi. Social media are so important these days for many types of business. We have customers who are making 90% of their earnings from social media like Instagram and Facebook alone. So for some this is a huge market, but it requires the right planning and a lot of time. But if you enjoy social media and it fits your business model.
On a more private level I enjoy sports, mainly running and fitness. I enjoy reading sci-fi and fantasy. Playing boardgames and other nerdy stuff. I live with my gf and our cats in a house in the eastern part of Aalborg. Enjoy hanging out with friends and family.
