Mercedes wins Sensible Innovation Award for CO2 air conditioning system
Within the scope of the award ceremony for "Sensible Cars", a jury has been conferring the "Sensible Innovation" award as a special prize for innovative concepts and products in the area of mobility since 2007.
From 2017 Mercedes-Benz will offer CO2 air conditioning systems in the S-Class and E-Class, which will be the first series-produced passenger cars worldwide with such an air conditioning system. Mercedes-Benz will simultaneously fulfil the strict EU requirements for climate protection.
These completely newly developed systems are based on the DIN specifications defined by the automotive standards committee of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Thanks to their especially quickly available and high cooling output, CO2 air conditioning systems provide for a pleasant feel-good climate inside vehicles even in very hot weather. In combination with their high environmental compatibility, this makes them a sustainable solution among air conditioning systems.
