Abarth Performance Centre to open at Arnold Chatz Cars
The Abarth brand, launched in South Africa this January, will be available through an exclusive dealer network, the first being Arnold Chatz Cars. The Johannesburg-based Abarth Performance Centre has specialised consultants and technicians and a dedicated facility. Following which, Fiat Group Automobiles South Africa will be opening Abarth Performance Centres in KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.
As a specialist performance brand, Abarth has dedicated performance centres the world over, with specially trained technicians and bespoke showrooms. Arnold Chatz Cars' Abarth Performance Centre will sell and maintain all Abarths, including the 500 and 500C Abarth and limited edition 695 Tributo Ferrari.
Perfectly suited to customer profile
"We are excited to have been chosen to be the first Abarth dealership in South Africa," says Derik Scorer, dealer principal at Arnold Chatz Cars. "Our location, in the heart of Johannesburg's northern suburbs, is ideally suited to Abarth's customer profile and we also have the facilities and expertise needed to service and support such a specialist brand."
Abarth became famous as a fierce independent thanks to its tuning capabilities and bolt-on performance accessories in a grand era of go-faster kits. As a result, Abarth is not just a performance badge of honour for Fiat, but a hallowed brand fitting of the legend his cars became.
The Abarth brand has been intrinsically linked to Fiat since its inception in 1949, but has also been associated with Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Pininfarina, as well as constructing its own bespoke Abarth racers.
