The changing face of retailCapping our DHL E-commerce MoneyAfrica coverage this year, I report back on the insightful presentation by Nic Harry Socks founder Nicholas Haralambous, in which he shared some of the factors contributing to the demise of physical retail as we know it. In other top news, a new report by IRI shows the growing influence and importance of specialist retail channels, which offer wider product ranges and higher customer satisfaction rates compared to mass market retailers. And 44 African countries signed the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement at the 10th African Union Summit last week. Besides the agreement, which could make Africa the world's largest free trade zone, 43 nations signed the Kigali Declaration, while 27 countries agreed to ease mobility of people across the continent by signing the protocol on movement of people across Africa. In other news, Tiger Brands gives an update on Listeria testing results and Devan Moonsamy tackles the issue of classism in SA stores. Enjoy!
