The Breaking the Mould auction, organised by Octagon, raised almost R250,000, as a tribute to South African women who have overcome challenges and inspired other. Clifton Shores creator, Quinton van der Burgh was the lucky bidder to secure one of only three unique Jenna Clifford butterfly pendants at the gala dinner held in honour of Serena and Venus Williams recently.

In order to register as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), an organisation must comply with a number of provisions, set out in section 30 of the Income Tax Act, No 58 of 1962 (Income Tax Act). Preferential tax treatment is conferred on a non-profit organisation which has obtained PBO status, and such compliant organisation's receipts and accruals are exempt from certain South African taxes.

Trudon Corporate Social Investment (CSI) has unveiled a sponsorship of a digital innovation centre at Kwena Molapo High School. The school is the first such school of this nature to be equipped with a digital learning environment. Today is the last day of the Airports Company South Africa Strand Open, being held at the Strand Tennis Club, Cape Town from 9am to 4pm.
