The wheelchair tennis competition features some of South Africa's top ranked players in a contest sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and part of the NEC World Wheelchair Tennis Tour.  The ACSA Strand Open is a Future Level Event and seeks to give local players an opportunity to gain world-ranking points and experience in their own backyard. It also serves as a perfect environment to introduce new talent to international competitions and provide them with valuable competitive experience. Attendance at the matches is free.Players
