The McGill Daily reports that Hydro-Québec, a Montreal-based, government-owned public utility that is responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity across Quebec, and Technifin, a subsidiary of the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), have agreed to share the intellectual property (IP) rights to their respective lithium-based technologies. 
Great North Transport (GNT) services transports 58 million passengers every year, using 297 routes, from 11 depots across South Africa, and clocking a total of 66 million kilometres. According to a Marketwire.comreport, Philippe Buyst, GNT's acting chief executive officer, the company makes sure that its fleet of 541 buses is not older then 10 years. "Our fleet's average age at present is five years," he told Marketwire.com. 
Business Week quotes Bloomberg's report that, according to a statement from Kagiso Tiso Holdings, South Africa's seasonally adjusted purchasing managers' index (PMI) was little changed in October, staying close to 50 for a second month, as expansion in manufacturing remained weak. The index advanced to 50.5 from a revised 50.2 the month before, the highest in four months. 
NEW YORK, US: During the past decade, automobile manufacturers have experienced a steady decline in customer loyalty for specific brands. This change signals the need for a new approach to marketing automobiles in the future, according to a new survey conducted by GfK Automotive. 
Taxi commuters will have to dig deeper into their pockets soon. The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) announced that it will increase taxi fares by 10%, IOL reports.
