No no to fomo

It's summer in the city time so you best be diarising and prioritising all the festivals and events you would like to get involved in to avoid any potential fomo. With Synergy Live and Sounds Wild featuring Bombay Bicycle Club around the corner, we interview BBC bassist Ed Nash to find out what festival-goers can expect. Also on the music front, the ever-popular Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are back; first concert of the season kicks off 23 November.

In theatre news, Debbie Hathway reports back on the inaugural and successful Cape Town Fringe Festival while Terry Levin gives her thoughts on the opening night of the Baxter Dance Festival.

Today sees the start of the Spier Secret Festival and the continuation of the Durban International Blues Festival, while this Saturday thousands of fun-loving runners will gather along the Sea Point Promenade for the vibrant Color Run.

New competitions see you stand the chance to win two tickets to Bittereinder's Cape Town album launch at Mercury Live and the Friday Night Derby Vol. 3 roller derby event in Blaauwberg!
