Tricky disputes

University of the Free State chancellor Professor Jonathan Jansen has told first-year students he is ashamed of South Africa, it was reported on Monday, 21 January. "I'm ashamed of South Africa. It's an absolute disgrace that you can pass matric with a mark of 30%," he said.

The migration to digital broadcasting from analogue signal has suffered another major setback after yesterday's decision by the Department of Communications to appeal against last month's court decision in favour of e.tv... It's a pity, but it seems we'll be stuck with analogue somewhat longer.
