Full kudos go to the Virgin Active CEO in SA, Chris Rolfe, for his expert handling of a few negative comments on the Bizcommunity.com site following on the launch of the new Virgin Active campaign. He reacted swiftly, inviting participants in the debate to contact him directly, supplying his personal contact details. Whether it was his idea, or his publicity firm, Marcus Brewster, Team Virgin demonstrated a professionalism in basic reputation management which many other organizations can learn from. Not so the ACA, which chose to castigate Bizcommunity.com instead, for publishing comments from agency head, Jannie Ngwale, that they felt were unfair on the transformation process. We do from time to time remove 'racist, bigoted, defamatory and just plain rude and uncalled for' comment on Biz, but we certainly do not impose censorship on articles received or in the chatroom forums. Bizcommunity is exactly that - your community and a forum for debate. And... you always have right of reply! This week we also put a face to "Fred" the protagonist in our column, Fred Says. Thanks to Peter van der Merwe for the great cartoon!

Have a good one! Louise Marsland, Editor, editor@bizcommunity.com
