    Cruise Cape Town... it's cool!

City Sightseeing Cape Town, the company that operates the unmistakable and well-known red double decker open-top buses, has a new addition to their tour offerings in the form of a Hop On - Hop Off canal cruise that the company aims to ensure is unique, memorable and fun.
    Aah, this is the life.
    Aah, this is the life.

The cruise offers the chance to experience the V & A Waterfront from a completely different angle and includes a trip through South Africa's only lock before stopping at the One and Only, the City Lodge and the Harbour Bridge before arriving at the Westin and Cape Town International Convention Centre (Bus Stop 3).

From this stop one can opt to hit the land. Just hop onto one of the City Sightseeing open-top buses to visit a variety of exciting attractions and amenities - from the iconic Table Mountain and the thriving V&A Waterfront, to popular destinations such as Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Groot Constantia Winelands and Hout Bay with a 1-day or 2-day ticket.

    The Tavern of The Seas

"Cape Town was founded as a harbour city and has a proud nautical history. It makes sense that visitors and locals alike can now take the opportunity to cruise the calm waters of the canal and enjoy the breathtaking views of Cape Town," says Claus Tworeck, CEO of City Sightseeing Cape Town.

"The City Sightseeing canal cruise offers the opportunity to learn more about the rich and famous who own apartments along this canal. You will also learn about the significance of this canal in once again joining the Central Business District to our harbour to complete what was once upon a time called the "Tavern of the Seas" - when ships from all over the world stopped here to get fresh supplies," he says.

This is a Hop On-Hop Off cruise, with five jetty points; the Two Oceans Aquarium, the One & Only, City Lodge, Harbour Bridge and the CTICC.

    Hop to it!

"You might decide to spend some time at any of the stops along the way and rejoin a later boat, or use the bus and boat combination to connect Stop 1, Two Oceans Aquarium and Stop 3, Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in either direction. Either way, don't miss out on this unique Cape Town experience!" Tworeck says.

The City Sightseeing canal cruise aims to offer a great day out for the entire family and kids in particular will love this exciting nautical adventure that is fun, different and memorable!

City Sightseeing Cape Town, in operation since 2002, offers sightseers what it aims to make a reliable, memorable and top quality travel experience. The company's service was recognised in 2009, when they received the International City Sightseeing Operator of the Year Award for innovation, customer service, overall brand experience and commitment to environmental sustainability.

The City Sightseeing canal cruise starts at Jetty 1, outside the Two Oceans Aquarium at the V&A Waterfront, which is also Bus Stop 1 and the location of the City Sightseeing ticket office.
