    Training authorities should be scrapped?

    Business Day reports that a forensic investigation into the Food and Beverage Manufacturing Industry's Sector Education and Training Authority (Seta) is underway amid allegations of widespread fraud and corruption.

    Business Day quotes Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande, when replying to questions raised in Parliament, as saying that the Seta models in South Africa need to be overhauled because they have created a private network for self-enrichment and possible corruption in the R8 billion sector.

    Meanwhile education expert Graeme Bloch says that the Setas have become a place for looting. He says there has been no direction in terms of what the Setas are meant to be doing and that they should all be scrapped.
